Thomas Sauvin

The French collector and artist Thomas Sauvin has salvaged discarded negatives from a recycling plant on the edge of Beijing, negatives that were destined to be destroyed. His Beijing Silvermine archive is one of the largest archival projects in China. Growing upon this, he has created various books and works of art, most notably Until Death Do Us Part, a cigarette book depicting the ceremony around Chinese weddings.
